CNC Laser Operator

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting equipment to produce high-precision metal components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining processes, blueprint reading, and quality inspection to ensure products meet strict specifications. The CNC Laser Operator plays a vital part in delivering quality products efficiently and safely within a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC laser cutting machines according to detailed blueprints and specifications
• Program CNC laser equipment using CNC programming languages to achieve precise cuts and dimensions
• Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of CNC laser machinery
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards
• Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances
• Assist with fabrication tasks involving plasma cutting, welding, and assembly as needed
• Operate auxiliary equipment such as press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, cranes, forklifts, and hand tools for material handling and fabrication processes
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment following safety protocols and procedures
• Document production activities accurately for traceability and quality assurance purposes

Skills

• Proficiency in CNC laser cutting operations and CNC programming techniques
• Experience with various manufacturing equipment including plasma cutters, press brakes, CNC mills/lathes, stamping presses, welding tools, cranes, forklifts, and hand tools
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
• Familiarity with GD&T principles for precision measurement and quality inspection
• Ability to operate machining tools such as calipers, micrometers, micrometer gauges, and other precision measuring instruments
• Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations in manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques and tooling management
• Understanding of safety standards related to electrical discharge machining (EDM), plasma cutting, welding, and heavy machinery operation
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining attention to detail in high-volume production settings
