Purpose
This position is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Diamond C Quality System through product and process related continuous improvement activities. The Quality Specialist (QS) will support data collection, analysis, auditing, training, and problem solving activities. As a dynamic position, the QS will have opportunities to work across teams and support OPEx, Operations, and other departments requiring assistance in continuous improvement activities.

Shift & Schedule:

MON-FRI 7:30AM-4:30PM

Responsibilities:
  • Supports QA operations for 4 geographically separated production facilities.
  • Works together with relevant teams and departments on quality and continuous improvement (CI) related projects.
  • Provides training and support, as needed, related to QA or CI initiatives and changes.
  • Supports the development of quality standards and/or specifications and procedures relative to packaging, handling, logistics operations, testing, inspection and manufacturing.
  • Participate in problem solving events focused on root cause analysis activities to drive safety, quality, cost, and efficiency improvements.
  • Understands and improves processes to assure conformance to government regulations, industry standards and DC product specifications
  • Supports efforts to implement and improve inspection and test plans based on KPI data.
  • Supports the document control process to ensure all documents that impact quality are updated and readily available to all personnel.
  • Maintains the gauge calibration system and conducts/ coordinates equipment calibrations as needed.
  • Analyzes production and QA processes through auditing activities to recommend improvements.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Coursework leading to an undergraduate degree (preferred)
  • Relevant experience in a quality assurance and/or control environment required
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
  • Demonstrates a passion for learning and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates problem solving abilities with a proactive approach.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in analyzing data, identifying trends, and problem solving.
  • Able to work on the shop floor working directly with the coating and/or fabrication teams.
  • Possesses a strong knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite applications
  • Able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage change effectively.
  • Able to work successfully in both a shop floor and office environment.
  • Able to work efficiently in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates a service minded attitude and ability to foster positive relationships with peers and internal customers.
