Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Technician Specialist role based in Fort Myers, FL. The Technician Specialist will install, configure, and maintain gate systems, security cameras, and access control equipment at customer locations. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing diagnostics, troubleshooting technical issues, completing repairs, and conducting routine preventative maintenance. The role involves interpreting technical documentation, wiring and hardware setup, and testing systems to ensure proper operation and safety compliance. The Technician Specialist will also interact with customers on-site, explain system functionality, provide basic user training, and document work performed in service records.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in installing and servicing gate operators, access control panels, and security camera systems.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals, with basic understanding of low-voltage electrical work.
- Experience using hand and power tools safely and effectively for mechanical and electrical installations.
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities for diagnosing hardware, connectivity, and configuration issues.
- Clear, professional communication skills for working with customers and team members, including accurate service documentation.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple service calls and complete tasks on schedule.
- Comfort working outdoors and at customer sites, including occasional lifting, climbing ladders, and working in varied weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to job sites within Southwest Florida.
- Prior experience in gate systems, access control, security, or low-voltage installations is preferred.
- Relevant technical training or certification in electronics, low voltage, or security systems is beneficial.
