Overview
We are looking for a Junior Python Developer to join our growing hedge fund and play a key role in building out the firm’s operational and trading technology stack. This role offers hands-on exposure to data, infrastructure, and systems that directly support investment and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in Python and SQL, exposure to cloud environments, and an understanding of REST APIs.
You’ll work closely with the COO to automate processes, streamline data workflows, and support technology initiatives across operations, risk, and trading.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain internal tools, scripts, and data pipelines using Python.
- Build and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures for reporting, reconciliation, and analytics.
- Integrate and maintain REST APIs connecting to brokers/trading systems, custodians, fund administrators, and data providers.
- Assist in deploying and managing applications in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Support automation of operational workflows, including trade capture, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Work with the COO to identify technology solutions that enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Maintain documentation, version control, and data integrity across systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 1–3 years of professional experience in software development, preferably in financial services or data-driven environments.
- Strong proficiency in Python (pandas, requests, or similar libraries).
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server).
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs (integration, authentication, error handling).
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with Git or similar version control systems.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and eagerness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in financial data structures, trading systems, or fund operations.
- Familiarity with ETL or data pipeline automation.
- Basic knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of Excel integration (e.g., Python-Excel workflows, API-based reporting).
- Comfort working in a small, entrepreneurial team where responsibilities are broad and evolving.

Salary : $100,000 - $130,000
