This position directly supports Management by ensuring smooth day-to-day service, thoughtful guest interactions, and accurate order flow. As one of the first points of contact, the Cashier helps set the tone for each guest’s experience through clear communication, warmth, and attention to detail.This is a part-time position.Shifts range from 6:30 am – 9:15pmPay rate: $20.25/hour tipsDuties & ResponsibilitiesGreet guests warmly and create a welcoming first impressionLearn and maintain complete knowledge of Dialog Café’s food and beverage menu, including ingredients and modifiers. Stay up to date on menu changes, seasonal items, and 86’d items to ensure accurate ordering and communicationAccurately take guest orders in person, ensuring clarity and attention to detailProvide menu guidance and thoughtful recommendations when appropriateOperate the Point-of-Sale system efficiently and accuratelyHandle cash transactions responsibly, including cash handling, making change, and maintaining drawer accuracyMaintain awareness of pacing, line flow, and overall café rhythmEngage with guests throughout their visit to ensure satisfactionAddress guest concerns professionally and escalate to Management when neededPerform opening and closing duties according to checklistMaintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and professionalism at all timesAssist with side work, including stocking, cleaning, sweeping, and general upkeepSupport teammates and other departments to maintain a positive work environmentAssist with VIP guests and special service moments when neededContribute to a positive community presence and uphold Dialog Café’s reputationRequired Qualifications & SkillsHigh School Diploma or GEDPrior customer service or café/restaurant experience preferredValid Food Handler’s Certificate and ABC LicenseStrong understanding of hospitality and service standardsAbility to communicate clearly, calmly, and professionallyAbility to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and accuracy, especially with orders and paymentsAbility to handle money accurately and maintain cash accountabilityComfortable standing for long periods of timeAbility to lift up to 50 lbsWillingness to follow direction and ask questions when clarification is neededFamiliarity with health and safety regulationsWhat We OfferCompetitive pay tipsCross-training Part-time and full-time scheduling optionsDiscounted food and beveragesGrowth opportunities, including leadership and management pathsOur ideal candidate is thoughtful, reliable, and passionate about creating a welcoming guest experience.
