Position Summary

Dialight is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the strategy, development, commercial performance, and lifecycle management of an assigned global product portfolio. This role serves as the business owner and voice of the customer for the portfolio, translating Dialight's overall product strategy into actionable roadmaps, investment priorities, and product plans. The ideal candidate combines strong commercial judgment with technical aptitude and can lead cross-functional teams through complex decisions in global, long sales-cycle industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities

Portfolio Strategy & Roadmap

  • Own the strategy and multi-year roadmap for an assigned product portfolio, aligned with Dialight's overall product strategy, business objectives, and regional market requirements.
  • Evaluate customer needs, market trends, competitive activity, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to identify and prioritize growth, differentiation, and portfolio improvement opportunities.
  • Develop business cases for new products and portfolio investments, including demand forecasts, target pricing and cost, margin expectations, return on investment, launch timing, and risk analysis.

Product Development & Lifecycle Management

  • Lead products through the full lifecycle, from opportunity definition and requirements through development, commercialization, continuous improvement, and end-of-life.
  • Translate voice-of-customer and market insights into clear product requirements, specifications, performance targets, target costs, pricing objectives, and compliance needs.
  • Partner with engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, and regulatory teams through the stage-gate or new product introduction process to deliver products on time, on budget, and to agreed performance and quality standards.
  • Drive portfolio productivity through cost reduction, quality and feature improvements, SKU rationalization, product-line simplification, and disciplined discontinuation planning.
  • Ensure products meet applicable global certifications and regulatory requirements, including UL, CE, DLC, IEC, and hazardous-location standards, as appropriate.

Commercial & Financial Performance

  • Manage the assigned portfolio as a business, with accountability for revenue, gross margin, product mix, market position, and overall financial performance.
  • Develop pricing recommendations and monitor market competitiveness, realized price, cost, and profitability to identify and implement corrective actions.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators for product and launch success; use data to recommend investments, corrective actions, or changes in priority.

Go-To-Market & Sales Enablement

  • Partner with Sales and Marketing to define value propositions, product positioning, pricing, launch plans, and regional go-to-market requirements.
  • Lead commercial readiness for product launches, including sales training, channel communication, competitive comparisons, customer presentations, and post-launch support.
  • Own the accuracy and readiness of relevant product content, including specifications, datasheets, brochures, website information, labels, installation manuals, and other customer-facing documentation.
  • Support strategic customers, channel partners, and the sales organization with product expertise while balancing individual requests against broader portfolio priorities.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as a central connector among engineering, operations, supply chain, sales, marketing, finance, quality, and regulatory teams to align priorities, resources, timelines, and decisions.
  • Communicate portfolio recommendations, tradeoffs, performance, and risks clearly to executive leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Mentor less-experienced product team members and contribute to consistent product management processes, tools, and operating rhythms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Product Development, or a related field is required; an MBA or advanced technical degree is preferred.
  • 7 years of relevant product management or product development experience, including at least 5 years in product management for technical B2B products.
  • Demonstrated success launching and managing technical products through the full lifecycle in an industrial, electrical, electronics, lighting, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience with pricing, business cases, demand forecasting, and margin management.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence without direct authority, and make decisions amid competing priorities and incomplete information.
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to turn market, customer, operational, and financial data into clear recommendations.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate technical and commercial topics to executive, customer, and channel audiences.
  • Experience working across global regions and with global regulatory or certification requirements is preferred.
  • Knowledge of industrial lighting, hazardous-location products, electrical systems, or related technical markets is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel as needed, including occasional international travel.
