We’re hiring a Principal Engineer (Leadership Track) to serve as a senior technical leader at Diald AI. You’ll be deeply hands-on while also shaping architecture, technical direction, and engineering culture. This role is designed for someone who wants to move into a broader engineering leadership role over time — including team-building, mentoring, and organizational ownership.
You’ll work closely with the CEO and cross-functional leaders to define priorities, ship enterprise features quickly, and scale the product into a durable platform.
- Serve as a senior technical leader for Diald AI, partnering with the CEO to shape and execute the technology roadmap
- Architect and evolve an enterprise-grade, multi-tenant AI platform focused on qualitative analysis of real estate properties
- Build and scale backend services in Python, including data processing pipelines and ML/LLM-related systems
- Develop responsive dashboards and client-facing portals using React or Vue.js
- Own engineering standards for reliability, security, and scalability — including progress toward SOC 2 readiness
- Collaborate with product, sales, and customer success to prioritize roadmaps, balancing speed, quality, and technical debt
- Play a key role in hiring, mentoring, and growing the engineering team over time
- Drive cloud infrastructure decisions (GCP), cost optimization, and vendor selection
- 7 years building production software, with deep hands-on expertise in Python backend systems and modern JavaScript frameworks (React or Vue)
- Experience in a senior or lead engineering role in a SaaS environment, ideally within a company that grew meaningfully during your tenure
- Strong architectural instincts and ability to own systems end-to-end (design → implementation → deployment → maintenance)
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading small teams or major projects; interest in growing into people leadership
- Comfort operating in high-ambiguity environments with fast-moving priorities and minimal hierarchy
- High ownership mindset — you naturally take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks
- Experience designing and scaling RAG pipelines, multi-modal ingestion flows, vector search systems, and LLM context-management architectures
- Experience building agentic AI systems, including tool integration, memory systems, orchestration frameworks, and multi-step reasoning agents
- Familiarity with LLM prompt engineering and distributed context-chaining approaches at scale
- Background in real estate, fintech, or adjacent B2B SaaS domains
- Experience working on security, compliance, or enterprise-readiness initiatives (SOC 2, audit logs, permissions systems, etc.)
