Come serve with the DIAL/SELF AmeriCorps Program (DSAP)! You'll get a chance to see the ins-and-outs of a local school or nonprofit and explore ways to support learning, creativity, and community.

* DSAP is a 10-month (August 2025 - June 2026) leadership professional development program.

* AmeriCorps members serve full-time (40 hours/week) to support positive youth development and strengthen community.

The DIAL/SELF AmeriCorps Program is a leadership program where AmeriCorps Members support positive youth development and strengthen community.

DSAP Members build meaningful relationships with young people and support them in developing skills, connectedness, and confidence in their learning. Members are matched with a specific Service Site (school or community center/org) during the interview process.

* LEARN BY DOING *

Joining DIAL/SELF AmeriCorps is not like a typical job. It's a learning experience, a chance to try on new things, connect with peers, and grow in community. We often have members graduate at the end of the ten month saying that they learned more in the program than they did in a year of college. They made connections, contributions, and grew in ways that set them up for the next phase of their life. They build relationships and make connections that lead to future education and employment opportunities.

DSAP Members:

• Serve full-time (40 hours/week) for 10-months (August-June).
• Serve Monday-Thursday at a specific school or community center supporting young people.
• Participate in a weekly learning community and peer support network with their fellow AmeriCorps members on Fridays 9am-3pm.
• Collaborate on team service projects to strengthen leadership skills and community resources.
• Participate in monthly individual goal-setting meetings to make the most of the year and set themselves up for the future.
• Receive coaching and guidance from the DSAP staff, site supervisors, and peer cohort, which offer a support network to make service as manageable and rewarding as possible.
• Gain skills and clarify their goals. They build friendships and relationships that lead to future opportunities.

DSAP Members receive:

• $7,395 Education Award (for student loans / college expenses)
• $1,909/Month Stipend
• Free health insurance
• Weekly training, ongoing support & guidance, leadership development, a peer support network, and opportunities to learn directly from teachers, social workers, community leaders, and young people!
• Most members are eligible for benefits like SNAP (food) and Fuel Assistance (winter heating). Member living stipends do not impact DTA benefits like typical income might.

AmeriCorps Members must be at least 18 years old, a US citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident, and have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalency.
