Position Overview
Diagnostic Assessment Services is seeking an experienced Interim Senior Business Operations Analyst to support the operational, financial, and administrative functions of a Special Education (SPED) school on a part-time, temporary basis. This role will focus on improving operational efficiency, strengthening financial oversight, and supporting leadership with data-driven insights during a transitional or high-growth period.
The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, experience in education or nonprofit environments, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with school leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Analysis & Improvement
- Assess current business operations, workflows, and administrative processes
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend practical, scalable improvements
- Support implementation of process enhancements across departments
Financial Oversight & Reporting
- Analyze budgets and expenditures
- Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and forecasts
- Support leadership in budget planning and variance analysis
Data & Performance Management
- Collect, analyze, and interpret operational related data to inform decision-making
- Build and refine KPIs aligned with compliance requirements
- Provide regular reporting to leadership with actionable insights
Compliance & Documentation
- Assist in ensuring adherence to applicable education regulations and reporting standards
- Review and improve documentation of operational and financial procedures
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders and administrative staff
- Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for non-technical audiences
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Public Administration, or related field
- 5–8 years of experience in business operations, financial analysis, or consulting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; experience with reporting tools
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently in a part-time, interim capacity
Preferred:
- Experience in K–12 education, special education (SPED), or nonprofit organizations
- Familiarity with public education funding models and compliance requirements
- Experience with student information systems or education data platforms
- MBA or relevant advanced degree
