Solar Service Tech/Installer - Swimming Pool Thermal Solar, PV & Battery

Diablo Solar Services, one of the Bay Area's oldest and most experienced solar installation and service companies, is looking for full time SOLAR SERVICE TECHNICIAN / INSTALLER to help mainly with our SWIMMING POOL SOLAR HEATING products, as well as some ***LIMITED*** PHOTOVOLTAIC (PV) AND BATTERY ENERGY STORAGE systems, and working primarily out of our Petaluma, CA office, with some possible limited time helping out our Concord, CA office as well.

Duties will include:

• Installation and service of Swimming Pool Solar Heating systems (90% of the time)
• Installation and service of Photovoltaic (PV) Solar-Electric systems ( /- 10% of the time)
• Installation and service of Energy Storage Battery Back-Up Systems ( /- 10% of the time)

Experience in at least one the following is ENCOURAGED, but not necessary:

• Solar Installation
• Swimming pool function and pool equipment
• PVC plumbing
• Roofing
• Electrical

Applicants that don't have proven experience in solar, pool, plumbing, roofing or electrical will be offered a pay range between $18.50 and $24 per hour. The more experience you have, the more likely you will be offered much more, as high as $37 per hour to start.

In addition, experience in the following is recommended and helpful:

• Ladders and working on roofs
• Comfort-ability working at extreme heights
• Power tools
• General Construction

Qualified candidates will need to:

• Work 35 to 50 per week (depending on season)
• Work some weekends (limited)
• Have a valid CA driver’s license with clean DMV report record (NON DRIVERS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED)
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen (Marijuana OK and not tested)
• Report to work regularly and on time everyday
• Possess strong customer service skills
• Maintain a professional and clean appearance
• Identify, prioritize and resolve issues in a pro-active manner
• Multi-task
• Bi-lingual speech is a plus

Typical work hours – 7:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday-Friday

Salary to be determined based on experience level. Typical starting wage for employees with limited solar, electrical, plumbing or swimming pool experience is $18.50 to $24 per hour. Proven candidates with significant experience should expect $25 to $37 per hour, or more. Advancement, including pay raises, are possible and based on job perform

Due to the seasonal nature of solar installations and service, paid time off is limited during the peak months of March through June and October through December, although exceptions can be made on a case by case basis.
