Role Overview
We are looking for a knowledgeable and hands-on Safety and Health Consultant to support our manufacturing and packaging operations in Huntley, IL. This fractional role is ideal for professionals with at least 3 years of experience in industrial safety who can provide strategic guidance and operational support without a full-time commitment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct facility-wide safety audits, hazard assessments, and compliance inspections.
- Develop and implement OSHA-compliant safety programs tailored to manufacturing and packaging environments.
- Train employees on safe handling of machinery, packaging equipment, and hazardous materials.
- Investigate workplace incidents and lead root cause analysis with corrective action plans.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state (Illinois), and local health and safety regulations.
- Support ergonomic assessments and injury prevention strategies.
- Monitor safety KPIs and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with production and HR teams to embed safety into daily operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in safety roles within manufacturing or packaging industries.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, Illinois workplace safety laws, and industrial hygiene practices.
- Certifications such as OSHA 30, CSP, CIH, or NEBOSH preferred.
- Excellent communication, training, and documentation skills.
