Summary:
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reports to the Director of Decision Support, will assist immediate supervisor in all decision support initiatives. Prioritizes and coordinates system-wide decision support and reporting priority initiatives. The Analyst will assist in the implementation of a culture of performance improvement that utilizes a data driven process that identifies System opportunities for improvement and assists with executing action plans in line with priorities.
POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS :
- Business, Finance or Accounting degree mandatory, a master’s in business administration is preferred or equivalent education/experience in financial operations, health care management.
- Two (2 ) years of related leadership experience in a healthcare setting as well as an understanding of hospital operations.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Good written and verbal communication skills required.
- Good problem solver, self-reliant and results oriented.
- Ability to think critically and communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Bilingual – English/Spanish.
- Prefer individual with LEAN knowledgebase.
- Must project a professional image.

Responsibilities:
POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:
- Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practice
- Serve as one the organization’s Analyst, Decision Support and Analytics. Assists Sr. Analyst in performing decision support, analytics and organizational performance reporting.
- Assists Sr. Analyst in collaborating and coordinating with the Chief Medical Officer, Chief Operations Officer and Chief Nursing Officer in all quality, safety and clinical improvement activities with a focus on improving patient outcomes and clinical results, while utilizing clinical benchmarking systems to produce key performance metrics pertaining to and contributing to improving quality, safety and performance outcomes.
- Assists in productivity reporting system-wide, including the Ambulatory Operations.
- Assists in monitoring of performance and regularly provides feedback to departments.
- Assists in the promotion of a culture of high performance, continuous improvement and commitment to quality.
- Assists in the assessment of project profitability models and makes recommendations.
- Assists with analytics related to operations in support of hospital’s growth initiatives utilizing market share data, outmigration and market share penetration in primary and secondary markets.
- Assists with the monitoring of organizational dashboard metric reporting, hospital performance metrics, development of goals, and setting of objectives.
- Assists with ensuring key performance indicators and metrics align with hospital’s strategic goals and initiatives.
- Assists with educating management staff regarding the availability of and appropriate use of financial analysis and decision support tools in analyzing new or existing programs.
- Leverage best practices and leading industry benchmarks across the System.
- Maintain positive internal and interpersonal communication at all times, and mentor direct reports.
- Keep abreast of national, regional, state and industry trends and plan accordingly. Any relevant duty assigned.

B. Working Conditions : The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The position does have low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.
C. Occupational Exposure: This position has minimal to no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and is an OSHA Category III (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Person who performs these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
