We have an immediate career opportunity for a qualified Ground Support Equipment (GSE) Maintenance Supervisor at our Erlanger, KY hub.

Shift: 3rd shift, 11pm – 7:30am, Tuesday – Saturday (5 day / 40 hour week base schedule)

Responsibilities:

• Safety First focused approach to leading staff, managing shop and conducting work
• Supervises employees to ensure maintenance objectives are accomplished
• Demonstrates proven organizational skills in prioritizing work (scheduled / non-scheduled / emergency), maximizing team (coaching / engagement / productivity / quality of work, etc.)
• Adheres to and determines work standards, approves parts and materials requests
• Conducts shift briefings (PDs), shift turnover reports and participates in management meetings
• Innovation champion supporting best industry practices and process improvements
• Reduces costs and waste of all types while increasing productivity & asset longevity
• Coordinates with DHL Operations regularly to ensure optimum equipment uptime
• Inspires a proactive maintenance environment by continuous improvement and root cause analysis competencies
• Works closely with each team member to support career aspirations
• Performs other duties as assigned or required
  
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Subject Matter Expert (SME) level understanding related to GSE Maintenance and Management
• 2 – 5 years of demonstrated experience leading teams, career advancement and progression of responsibilities
• Desire to further develop and lead a world class team committed to a zero defect approach to maintenance
• Strong PLC, electrical, diesel, vehicle HVAC, hydraulic systems, troubleshooting, and etc. skill set.
• Understanding of HR functions related to employee promotion and discipline interaction
• Positive mentor and role model acting as an ambassador of DHL on multiple levels
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal) effectively interacting with techs through senior management levels
• Extensive background in the preventive maintenance, repair and ongoing care of GSE consisting of ground power units, cargo loaders, belt loaders, ramp tractors, Ford vans, pickup trucks and shuttle buses
• Have general knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Must understand and have the ability to interact with our computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• High School graduate/equivalent with multiple areas of technical training or technical school background
• Able to pass extensive background check and drug screening
  
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 70lbs regularly
• Must be able to stand for long durations
• Must be able to work in hot and cold environments to include outdoors in inclement weather
• Some equipment reaches 7 feet or higher, must use ladders and to be able to safely work at such heights
  
  
  

Working Conditions:

• The shop floor is a modern, well lighted environment with regular exposure to heat, fumes, loud noise level at times, slippery floors, dust, oil, moving equipment, etc.
• Proper use of ear protection, steel toe / slip resistant shoes, eye protection and other PPE is required
• Must be able to stand for long durations, sit, squat and navigate in and around equipment
• Salaried position – must be able to adjust schedule based on work demands and weather
