DHI Group is hiring for Test and Evaluation (T&E) Engineers to support the United States Space Force Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM) Test and Evaluation Squadrons (TES) in Colorado Springs, CO. We are seeking mid‑ to senior‑level engineers and analysts with strong backgrounds in space systems testing, experimentation, and evaluation to join our team as mission needs evolve.
Successful candidates will support multiple phases of the DoD acquisition lifecycle, applying rigorous test methodologies to evaluate space systems and capabilities. Experience with developmental, operational, and live‑fire testing, as well as the application of modeling & simulation (M&S) and hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HWIL) approaches, is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may vary based on experience level and mission needs but may include:
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of space system tests and experiments
- Design, develop, and execute advanced test and experimentation programs to assess system performance, effectiveness, and suitability
- Apply scientific and statistical methods (e.g., design of experiments) to increase test efficiency and produce actionable results
- Create, review, and maintain test engineering documentation, including:
- Test Plans
- Test Information Sheets
- Safety Packages
- Data Analysis & Management Plans
- Technical and Safety Review Board Briefs
- Test Readiness Briefs
- Test Cards
- Test and Analysis Reports
- Perform analysis of pre‑test predictions, including results from M&S and HWIL, to design test profiles, define data collection requirements, and establish go/no‑go criteria
- Support system, subsystem, and component reviews to ensure data management and analysis plans (DMAPs) enable effective real‑time and post‑mission evaluation
- Execute data analysis requests, conduct data quality reviews, resolve anomalies, and analyze results in accordance with approved analysis plans
- Run and evaluate simulations to predict or assess system performance under relevant operational scenarios
- Monitor M&S data collection and guide test result evaluation against customer requirements and performance expectations
- Develop test reports, briefings, and presentations for complex data sets
- Create or enhance data analysis tools to support testing and evaluation activities
Required Qualifications (Mid to Senior Level)
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Research, Engineering, Mathematics, Probability, Statistics, or a related science discipline
- 5–10 years of demonstrated systems and/or test engineering experience supporting space, ground, operations, or sustainment segments of DoD programs
- Strong understanding of test, evaluation, and experimentation, including distinctions between developmental, operational, and integrated testing
- Experience with methods such as:
- Modeling and simulation
- Laboratory and open‑air testing
- Live‑fire testing
- System decomposition
- Design of experiments and response surface methodologies
- Regression testing
- Validation and verification of models and simulations
- Ability to support integrated engineering and analysis teams across:
- Design reviews
- Test planning working groups
- Test card development
- Disciplined test execution
- Post‑test and post‑flight reporting
- Strong analytical skills and patience for processing and analyzing complex test and experimentation data
- Willingness to adapt to evolving roles and responsibilities in support of customer needs
- Technical expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Space‑related data communications
- EO/IR/RF sensors
- Spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control (GNC)
- Space system architectures
- Space battle management and control
- Cyber
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (required)
Preferred / Senior‑Level Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Operations Research, Engineering, Mathematics, Probability, Statistics, or a related science field (no exceptions)
- 10 years of relevant professional experience
- Background as a Space Weapons Officer (W13S/13S) with an understanding of joint operations, and/or a graduate of specialized T&E training (e.g., USAFTPS Space Test Course)
- DoD Acquisition Professional Development (APDP/ADPD) Level III – Test and Evaluation
- Prior experience working within the DoD or as a defense contractor supporting T&E missions
- Knowledge of orbital mechanics and astrodynamics
- Experience in space operations or operational test environments
- Strong background in statistical analysis of large, complex data sets
- Application of operations research techniques, including:
- Database query languages
- Design of experiments and response surface methodologies
- Scripting or programming languages
- Development of analytical models and simulations

Salary : $110,000 - $160,000
