About the Role

Dgreen LLC is seeking an Underground Field Safety Coordinator to join our Salt Lake City, Utah team. In this role, you will plan, organize, implement, administer, and evaluate the effectiveness of the company’s safety program—both in the office and across field operations.

You will be responsible for telecom- and power-specific industrial safety, occupational health and safety, traffic safety, and hazardous materials management. Your work ensures full compliance with federal and state regulations (including OSHA and applicable state OSHA programs) as well as environmental requirements.

Although headquartered in Salt Lake City, Dgreen’s projects span large cities and small towns across the Intermountain West. Candidates must be willing and able to travel regularly to where the work is.

What You’ll Do

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, rules, and codes related to employee health, safety, and site control.
  • Lead the day-to-day field safety program across Power and Telecom division project sites, ensuring consistent implementation of Dgreen Safety policies.
  • Conduct regular on-site inspections and job site visits to identify unsafe conditions, work practices, and hazards; reinforce compliance and safety culture.
  • Develop, maintain, and update safety policies, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures, and related documentation.
  • Manage the company drug and alcohol program (DOT and non-DOT), including policy compliance, testing coordination, and record maintenance.
  • Oversee the safety training program: new-hire orientation, ongoing technical and safety training, and scheduling of in-house and online courses.
  • Lead incident investigations: determine root causes, develop corrective action plans, report findings to leadership, and maintain records for claims and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 injury and illness recordkeeping; manage annual 300A posting requirements and keep records audit-ready for OSHA, client prequalification, and reporting.
  • Coordinate injured-worker case management to support timely and appropriate return-to-work outcomes.
  • Prepare and manage the safety department training budget.
  • Create notices of noncompliance for employees and subcontractors as needed.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Fleet, HR, and Project Management to integrate safety requirements into project planning and execution.

What You’ll Bring

Required

  • 1–3 years of experience in occupational health and safety.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Current OSHA 10 and/or OSHA 30 Hour certification.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations related to employee health, safety, and site control in construction, utility, or telecom environments.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and willingness to travel regularly to project sites.

Preferred

  • Background in electrical utility, telecom, and/or construction safety.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or a related field (equivalent experience considered).
  • Additional certifications such as OSHA 500, CSP, CHST, First Aid, and CPR.
  • Experience managing multi-state or multi-site field safety programs.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
