The DGR Engineering Electrical Power Department in Rock Rapids, Iowa specializes in the planning and design of infrastructure improvements for electrical power utilities in the upper Midwest. Typical projects include power generation, substation, transmission, and distribution system design and construction management.
Qualifications:Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in a relevant discipline such as Electrical Engineering Technology, Computer Science, SCADA Technology, Industrial Controls, Information Technology, or a related field
- Ability to work independently to assist in the production and interpretation of project designs, drawings, schematics, specifications, and related engineering materials
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with coworkers and clients
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and industrial control systems
- Basic knowledge of programming languages such as C , Python, or SQL
- Familiarity with communication and networking protocols such as TCP/IP, Modbus, OPC, and DNP3
- Knowledge of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls
- Exposure to or experience with Protection & Control (P&C) design, including relaying concepts, schematics, or coordination with substation protection systems
