The Sales & Business Development Representative grows DGM’s custom packing and crating revenue by building a high-quality pipeline, converting opportunities with tailored proposals, and partnering across Operations, Compliance, and Customer Service to deliver compliant, on-time projects. Success in 6–12 months looks like: a healthy, documented funnel; consistent activity (prospecting, meetings, quotes); wins with target accounts; strong client satisfaction/retention; and accurate reporting in Dynamic Business Central/CRM. The role sits on the Sales/Business Development team and is a key bridge between customers and internal delivery teams
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a qualified pipeline for custom packing & crating services; prospect, qualify, and close new business.
- Create persuasive proposals and presentations tailored to client needs and project scope.
- Collaborate with Operations, Compliance, and Customer Service to ensure on-time, compliant delivery and high client satisfaction.
- Maintain and grow client relationships; manage accounts to encourage renewals and long-term partnerships.
- Track and analyze sales performance using Dynamic Business Central and related sales tools; maintain accurate records.
- Support marketing and outreach to drive brand awareness and lead generation; represent DGM at trade shows, conferences, and community events.
- Partner with Marketing and Account Executives on market strategies and account plans.
- Educate clients on service terminology, features, and benefits to improve understanding and outcomes.
- Provide support to other Business Development team members as needed.
Qualifications
- 3 years of B2B outside sales, preferably in industrial packaging, custom crating, cargo services, or logistics support.
- Working knowledge of custom crating/packing for transit or related technical services.
- Proven sales track record with strong customer-service orientation; excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort with CRM/proposal tools; disciplined pipeline and activity management.
- Willingness to travel ~15% (local client visits, events; occasional travel to other branches).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Nice to have: Familiarity with hazardous materials/dangerous goods environments
