Ideal Candidate: The Warehouse Associate I supports daily warehouse operations by receiving, handling, storing, and preparing materials and freight for shipment. This role performs hands-on warehouse and packing activities in accordance with work instructions, safety standards, and quality requirements. The Warehouse Associate I contributes to a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment while supporting internal teams and customer needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Receive inbound deliveries and direct drivers to designated unloading areas.
- Unload materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment, as trained and certified.
- Verify incoming materials against packing slips; note discrepancies and report issues to supervisors.
- Transport materials from receiving areas to storage locations or designated work areas.
- Sort and store materials on racks, shelves, or bins according to size, type, customer requirements, or operational procedures.
- Assemble paperwork from Account Coordinators and stage orders on pallets or shelves.
- Measure freight, verify quantities, and prepare items for packing or crating.
- Load freight into boxes or crates and secure materials using blocking, bracing, stretch wrap, or banding as required.
- Apply required markings and labels to packed freight.
- Assist with preparing parcels and freight for outbound shipment.
- Follow job breakdowns, work instructions, SOPs, and safety procedures at all times.
- Support dangerous goods operations by following DG-related procedures and training requirements.
- Escalate potential safety, quality, or damage concerns to supervisors promptly.
- Maintain awareness of applicable regulatory and customer requirements impacting warehouse operations.
- Read and interpret work orders, shipping documents, and packing instructions.
- Perform basic data entry and documentation using company systems as required.
- Support daily workflow demands and assist team members as needed

QUALIFICIATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- 1–2 years of warehouse, logistics, or related operational experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred.
- Basic understanding of warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, packing, and shipping.
- Basic foundational awareness of dangerous goods–regulated environments and procedures.
- Experience operating forklifts or pallet equipment preferred, or ability to learn equipment and obtain required certification.
- Successful completion of IATA, IMDG, and 49 CFR training within 90 days of hire, with a minimum passing score of 90%.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and internal communication.
- Willingness to work in regulated and compliance-driven environments.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND SAFETY EXPECTATIONS
- Work is performed primarily in a warehouse environment, with occasional exposure to outdoor or semi-covered areas depending on receiving, loading, or staging activities.
- Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas, including receiving zones, packing stations, aisles, docks, and common spaces, in accordance with company housekeeping standards.
- Must consistently follow written work instructions, SOPs, job breakdowns, and company safety protocols at all times.
- Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as mandated by task, equipment, or work environment, including safety footwear, gloves, eye protection, and high-visibility apparel as applicable.
- Safely operate material-handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and carts, in accordance with training, certification, and company policies.
- Expected to identify and promptly report any safety hazards, damaged materials, quality issues, or regulatory concerns to supervision or the QHSE department.
- Must be able to navigate warehouse aisles, docks, and storage areas safely and efficiently while maintaining situational awareness.
- Regular exposure to noise, dust, temperature variations, and physical labor conditions typical of warehouse operations.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, compliance-driven warehouse environment while maintaining safety, accuracy, and quality standards.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb stairs throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. unassisted when handling freight, materials, boxes, or crates.
- Regular use of hands and arms to handle, position, secure, label, and move materials, including use of pallet jacks and other manual equipment.
- Visual acuity sufficient to read labels, packing lists, work orders, shipping documents, and computer screens accurately.
- Adequate hearing to receive instructions, communicate with coworkers, and respond to alarms or warning signals in a warehouse environment.
- Clear verbal communication skills for in-person coordination and two-way communication devices.
- Ability to perform physical tasks for extended periods and adapt to changing workload demands.
- Ability to use basic computer systems and scanning equipment for data entry, documentation, and inventory tracking as required.
WORK SCHEDULE
- Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility for occasional Saturdays, overtime, or adjusted hours as needed to meet operational demands
