POSITION INFORMATION
As a multi-disciplinary engineering firm, success in this position will require the ability to coordinate all aspects of construction management, administration, and inspection services as necessary. DGL is looking for a well-rounded Senior Construction Engineer to enhance the qualifications of our Construction Management Department.

- Reports to Director of Technical Services
- Full-time, Non-Exempt
- 4-8 years of previous experience in construction engineering
Include but are not limited to the following:
- Work under supervision of a Project Manager or Senior-level Team Members
- Serve as Resident Engineer and/or Project Inspector on construction projects
- Communicate with Department leaders for understanding of project scope
- Oversee daily inspection of work performed by the contractor
- Record daily construction activities, quantities, contractor’s equipment and on-site personnel
- Scheduling and facilitating construction progress meetings
- Review/approve contractor’s shop drawing submittals
- Monitor overall project budget and review/approve contractor’s pay requests prior to submitting to owner for payment
- Review/approve contractor’s change orders
- Schedule and review material testing and make sure results are per project requirements and specifications
- Coordinate with other engineers and surveyors on project requirements
- Provide survey support as necessary
- Provide civil engineering design and drafting support (Bridge/Site/Roadway/Traffic) as necessary
- Obtain and maintain safety certifications and client pre-qualifications (ODOT/OTIC)
- Experience with applicable computer software (Microsoft Office, MicroStation, AutoCAD, Primavera P6 Scheduling, AASHTOWare, GoFormz, etc.)
- Obtain and maintain ODOT/OTIC construction related pre-qualifications based on agency requirements (Construction Engineer Level 1, Construction Engineer Level 2, Project Inspector, Project Structure Inspector, Coatings Inspector, Traffic & Lighting Inspector)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven success in delivering high quality project submittals
- Must be well organized
- Professional demeanor
- Ability to communicate effectively with all types of people
- Valid Driver’s License required with a favorable driver’s record
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Construction Engineering Technology from ABET Accredited Institution
- ODOT/OTIC construction pre-qualifications are required
