DGI Geoscience is looking for Geological Technician to join our team! DGI is a leader in geophysical consulting and field services, delivering innovative subsurface imaging and analysis for environmental, engineering, and resource development projects. We are committed to scientific excellence, safety, and sustainability in every project we undertake. We are looking to build our new US team in Salt Lake City, Utah.

 

Position Overview

We work with a diverse range of companies in mining, acting as expert consultants to provide the data they need to further their projects. We work both on rotations and on a callout schedule. During the winter, work slows providing plenty of free time – for those who want to ski in the winter please apply!

We are seeking teachable and resourceful applicants for immediate hiring. Previous related experience is beneficial. Formal relevant education and field experience is an asset, though not required. If you do not have direct experience, please highlight why you would be a good fit.

 

Key Responsibilities

This occupation is well suited for individuals who enjoy travelling, the outdoors, and a dynamic and exciting workplace. The successful applicants will be responsible for field data acquisition, preventative maintenance, preliminary assessment of data quality, application of QA/QC procedures and interaction with contractor and client representatives. DGI is a growing company and there are opportunities for advancement to senior field staff, project management and data processing positions.

This position is based in Utah and requires traveling out of state. The position offers the ability to travel internationally and is ideally suited for those who are motivated to join a team dedicated to providing innovative applications of advanced technologies.

Qualifications

  • Strong teamwork, problem solving, and accurate note taking skills
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Capability to lift 50 lbs
  • MSHA (provided if necessary)
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelors in Geological or Engineering fields preferred
  • Ability to Travel
  • Confidence in operating specialized hardware and software
