Forklift Operator - 2nd Shift

Position Summary:

 DG Foods is looking for a qualified and enthusiastic forklift operator for our facilities in Hazlehurst, MS.. You will be operating a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. Your job could involve driving around refrigerated warehouses, storage spaces and other facilities.  DG Foods has a very aggressive compensation program based on performance.  This is a full-time position with the opportunity to participate in our company benefit programs! 

Essential Job Functions:

Job duties are as follows, but not limited to: 

• Unload materials from incoming vehicles and stack them in their assigned areas.
• Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment.
• Identify damages and report shortages or shipping quality deficiencies.
• Responsible to help maintain and clean equipment following company operational guidelines and policies.
• Performs pre-operation inspections daily and is responsible for reporting all deficiencies or damage. 
• Responsible for notifying supervisor for Tag Out or Removal from service if forklift doesn't pass inspection.
• Transport raw materials to assigned areas.
• Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance.
• Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs.
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
• Maintain personal work area in accordance with DG Foods GMP, SSOP and HACCP regulations. 
• Perform general clean-up task to keep work area clean and free of excess debris.
• Help maintain a safe and orderly environment for the facilities.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

 Job Requirements: 

• You must be coachable because we want you to succeed!
• Must be comfortable with working in a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment.
• Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment is a must.
• At least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must pass our multiday orientation class.
• Must be legally eligible to work in accordance with federal and state law.
• Must have dependable transportation to and from DG Food facilities, no exceptions.
• Must be able to work various hours/holidays/weekends.
• Must be able to always wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
• Must pass internal skills assessment with a score of 80% or above and must be able to demonstrate the skill set.  
• Possess a certification as a Forklift Operator from an accredited learning institution in which the program is compliant with OSHA and/or National Safety Council (NSC).
• Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.  However, other combinations of experience and education will be considered. 

 Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in a cold and wet environment. 
• Must be able to work sitting for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift and maneuver up to 70 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Salary : $15 - $18
