We are currently looking for experienced Assistant Superintendents to join our firm.
Responsibilities: The Assistant Superintendent works in close conjunction with the Superintendent, overseeing all onsite construction activities to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to DFS Construction’s quality and safety standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Schedule Management – assist in developing, updating, and maintaining the project schedule to prevent delays.
- Field Oversight – coordinate and supervise all field staff and subcontractors, ensuring work aligns with plans, specifications, and safety protocols.
- Communication & Reporting – maintain accurate daily logs, safety reports, and other required documentation. Facilitate clear communication among project team members.
- Quality & Compliance – monitor work for quality assurance, conduct regular inspections, and ensure compliance with all codes and regulations.
- Closeout Management – support the Superintendent to manage project closeout activities, including third-party inspections, punch list completion, and warranty activation.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required, at least two years of college preferred
- 2 – 3 years of experience in construction or real estate field
- Ability to communicate effectively to all parties involved with a project
- Ability to speak and/or understand Spanish is preferred
- Ability to read drawings, schematics, and other specifications
- Proficiency with computers and basic Microsoft Office programs. Experience with Procore is preferred.
- Ability to adhere to DFS Construction’s safety policies
- OSHA 30 certification preferred
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time
