Job Description
The Eligibility Specialist position involves processing applications from Indiana residents who are requesting public assistance. You will work closely with the FSSA/Division of Family Resources (DFR) to ensure accurate and timely completion of applications.
Responsibilities
- Process new applications and documents for ongoing public assistance.
- Verify income, assets, and other financial/legal documents.
- Utilize automated programs to determine eligibility for state assistance programs.
- Data entry into state database.
- Respond to inquiries in a timely manner via phone or email.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Solid computer skills and Microsoft Office proficiency.
- A Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Counseling or Social Services, or High School Diploma/GED required.
- At least 2 years of experience in a social service environment, preferably in state or local government employment/training programs.
