What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC & Laser Operator position at DFC Company?
Shift and Time: Day Shift, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm
Pay: Starting at $26 an hour depending on experience
Summary:
- Manufacture traffic control and specialty signs using CNC laser equipment.
- Operate, load, configure, and calibrate CNC laser machines according to design specifications and blueprints.
- Assist with machine setup, including CNC program retrieval, lens calibration, and material preparation for daily production.
- Verify materials are appropriate for each project and ensure finished products meet quality standards.
- Perform quality inspections, complete required documentation, and maintain high standards of workmanship.
- Assist with programming, calibration, preventative maintenance, servicing, and basic repairs of CNC laser equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment, ensuring CNC equipment and work areas remain free of hazards.
- Organize, monitor, and track inventory, including assisting with quarterly inventory counts.
- Collaborate with the Metal Fabrication Supervisor and Lead to ensure projects are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Serve as a resource for new employees by answering questions and providing operational guidance.
- Participate in weekly Sign Shop meetings focused on safety, training, production schedules, deadlines, and product knowledge.
- Support additional production and shop responsibilities as assigned by supervisors or management.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of metal fabrication, CNC and laser equipment. Prior experience in a sign manufacturing environment is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Required to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds
- Occasionally required to walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs or ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
