Qualified applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-06 for GS-07 level and GS-07 for GS-08 level) in the Federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
For GS-07: Specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level is defined as: maintaining accounting or financial ledgers; posting financial transactions; preparing accounting reports; reconciling accounts and working with a variety of accounting and financial automated systems.
For GS-08: Specialized experience at the GS-08 grade level is defined as: processing and auditing complex contracts and vendor pay entitlement transactions; reconciling pay system and financial system data; working with a variety of electronic systems to review and resolve pay transaction issues.
GS-07 Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-06 or higher grade in federal Service.
GS-08 Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher grade in federal Service.
** The effective date of your SF-50 must reflect that you will meet the 52-week time in grade requirement within 30 days of the announcement closing.
