As a District Sales Manager at DF Seeds, you will leverage agronomic and technical knowledge to develop and enhance our customer experience. You will conduct face-to-face and remote sales with new and existing customers, assist in evaluating customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services and solutions while also supporting the existing dealer network with marketing and sales expertise and resources. We are currently hiring for two positions. One DSM is focused on eastern Michigan, primarily the Thumb area. The other DSM is focused in either southern or western Michigan.


Duties & Responsibilities

· Promote the DF Seeds brand experience and its differentiated value in the market.

· Achieve corn, soybean and wheat seed sales goals annually.

· Serve as the main point of contact for a subset of dealers within assigned sales territory and effectively sell the value of DF Seeds products.

· Identify new key customers, understand their business, determine their needs, and develop plans and actions for sales territory growth.

· Assist customers and dealers with product selection and placement based on agronomic needs.

· Show initiative and improvement in sales, agronomy, business acumen, and product & portfolio knowledge.

· Recruit new dealers within assigned territory.

· Implement dealer business plans and account management activities.

· Understand product performance versus the competition.

· Effectively manage expenses and program payments.

· Manage area replant claims and agronomic questions/concerns.

· Maintain account information and communicate details with dealer network.

· Implement sales and marketing program execution and program fulfillment.

· Monitor customer and competitor activity and industry trends.

· Support business growth by disseminating favorable information about the organization and its products and services.

· Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

· Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

· BS degree in the field of agriculture or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field of agronomy or seed sales.

· Possess knowledge of a wide range of products with a focus to include corn, soybean and wheat seeds in the field of agronomy.

· Knowledge of agricultural production and practices with experience.

· Highly coachable with the ability to receive and act upon feedback.

· Strong written communication and oral presentation skills.

· Self-motivated and takes initiative to meet goals with minimal supervision.

· Demonstrates ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.

· Possess a valid driver's license in good standing authorizing you to drive independently during your employment.

· Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.

· Ability to work remotely from home.

· Proficient with computers utilizing Microsoft 365.
