Position Overview
MyMichigan Health – Saginaw is seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) for a temporary night shift assignment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical skills in specimen analysis, instrument maintenance, and data accuracy. This role supports 24/7 laboratory operations, ensuring timely and precise test results in a collaborative, fast-paced hospital environment.
Compensation Package
Weekly Pay Package: $1,862.00
- Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $1,162.00
- Weekly Straight Pay (Taxable): $700.00
- Weekly Overtime Pay (Taxable): $0.00
Shift Details
- Schedule: Nights
- Shift Times: Rotating between 10:30 PM–7:00 AM and 6:30 PM–7:00 AM
- Hours: 40-hour guarantee
- On Call: None
- Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of laboratory experience – Required
- ASCP Certification – Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field – Required

- Sunquest and Epic
- Griffols Blood Bank
- Siemens Coag, Sysmex Hematology, Abbott Alinity Chemistry

Job Description
General Summary Performs analysis of biological specimens and related laboratory procedures, including specimen collection, preparation of reagents, and quality control. Evaluates test results, performs calculations, prepares reports, and ensures compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. Responsible for instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and assisting in training new technologists.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- (60%) Analyze and process biological specimens; organize workload and perform test procedures.
- (20%) Evaluate patient and quality control results and enter into the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Follow critical notification policies as required.
- (15%) Maintain inventory and re-order reagents. Safely dispose of biohazardous materials and chemicals.
(5%) Maintain and troubleshoot instruments.
