The Boiler Mechanic MD Grade 2 constructs, installs, maintains, and repairs stationary steam boilers, closed vats, and pressure vessels at the CMI customer site in Beltsville, MD.

Job Description
The Boiler Mechanic MD Grade 2 constructs, installs, maintains, and repairs stationary steam boilers, closed vats, and pressure vessels at the CMI customer site in Beltsville, MD.
Key Job Functions
- Read blueprints to assemble boiler tanks and connect pipe systems, valves, and gauges using welding equipment and hand tools.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance like cleaning vats, replacing defective tubes, lubricating moving parts, and ensuring proper water chemical balance.
- Diagnose malfunctions, conduct pressure tests, and replace broken components to prevent leaks and inefficient operation.
- Regulate equipment, adjust controls, and maintain logs of fuel usage and pressure levels to meet Stationary Engineers and Boiler Operators safety and environmental standards.
- Performs other related duties as required
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must have at least 3 years of experience of operating and maintaining boiler plants and at least 1 year operating and maintaining boiler plants as MD Grade 2 Stationary Engineer
- Must be licensed as Maryland (MD) Stationary Engineer Grade 2 - 300 to 499 horsepower (in any building)
- Must submit license(s) with resume
- Ability to lift heavy objects, navigate tight confined spaces, work at heights, and withstand high-pressure, high-temperature environments
- Must be able to fluently read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must be able to pass a government background check
