We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Manager to join our high-performing team at Plant 13 in Albion, IN. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact by shaping a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do
As the HSE Manager, you’ll be the go-to expert driving our safety and environmental programs across the plant. You’ll lead initiatives that protect our people, ensure compliance, and strengthen Dexter’s commitment to operational excellence.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive health, safety, and environmental programs that meet OSHA, EPA, and state/federal standards.
- Leading programs to reduce occupational injuries and illnesses, conduct area assessments, and drive measurable improvements.
- Managing environmental and OSHA reporting and recordkeeping requirements.
- Serving as the primary liaison with local, state, and federal agencies as well as corporate and insurance representatives.
- Leading investigations into incidents and driving root-cause analysis and corrective action.
- Conducting site audits and implementing solutions to improve environmental compliance and reduce waste streams.
- Creating and managing budgets for all HSE-related initiatives.
- Training, mentoring, and engaging employees to strengthen safety culture and awareness.
Your Expertise
We’re looking for a proven HSE leader who combines technical expertise with a proactive, hands-on approach.
Health & Safety Focus Areas:
Behavior-based safety (preferably DuPont STOP) • Contractor safety • Ergonomics • Lockout/Tagout • Confined space entry • Electrical safety • Emergency response planning • Machine guarding • Industrial hygiene • Job hazard analysis • OSHA compliance
Environmental Focus Areas:
Air emissions • Wastewater and stormwater management • Solid/hazardous waste control • Pollution prevention • Sustainability and recycling initiatives • ISO 14001/ISO 18001 systems management
What You Bring
- 10 years of HSE experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills with a passion for safety excellence.
