Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Heat Treat Furnace Operator to join our manufacturing team at Dexter-Russell Inc. in Southbridge, MA. This role is vital for ensuring our cutlery products meet the highest standards of quality through precise heat treatment processes. Responsibilities
Set up and operate Heat Treat department equipment. Including but not limited to, Heat Treat ovens, material straightener, press, degreasing equipment.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
- Set up and operate heat treat ovens, and temper oven.
- Operate Swiss turn lathe, and hook bending operations.
- Set up and operate various metal working equipment.
- Meet production requirements in a timely/efficient manner.
- Perform basic upkeep and cleaning of equipment and machines.
- Any other duties required by Department Supervisor.
- Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heat treat furnaces or similar equipment in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of heat treatment processes and temperature controls.
- Strong ability to work as a team.
- Must have satisfactory shop math skills.
- Knowledge and use of basic hand tools and measuring devices, such as Rockwell tester.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English which is the required language of the position.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to stand for 8hrs.
· Ability to lift 40lbs.
