Location: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid Preferred) ONSITE 4 days a week
Duration: Long-Term Contract / Contract-to-Hire
Pay rate: $32-40/hr
Job Overview
We are seeking a Sales Compensation Analyst to support the administration, calculation, analysis, and reporting of sales incentive and commission programs within a large enterprise environment. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in sales compensation, commissions, incentive programs, finance, accounting, sales operations, or revenue operations who enjoy working with large datasets, compensation models, and business stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have strong Excel skills, experience working with commission or incentive compensation systems, and the ability to ensure accurate commission calculations, reporting, and payout processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Calculate, validate, and process monthly, quarterly, and annual sales commission payments
• Analyze sales performance, quotas, territory alignment, and compensation data to ensure accurate incentive payouts
• Investigate and resolve commission discrepancies, data issues, and payout questions from sales teams and leadership
• Support administration and maintenance of sales compensation plans and commission management systems
• Partner with Sales Operations, Sales Effectiveness, Finance, Accounting, and Sales Leadership to ensure accurate data flow and reporting
• Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and compensation analytics to provide visibility into plan performance and payout effectiveness
• Perform compensation modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis during annual planning cycles
• Support audits and governance activities by validating compensation calculations and maintaining data integrity
• Identify opportunities to improve compensation processes, reporting, automation, and system efficiency
• Respond to inquiries from sales representatives and managers regarding compensation calculations and plan details
Must-Have Experience
• 2 years of experience in Sales Compensation, Incentive Compensation, Sales Operations, Revenue Operations, Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, or related field
• Experience calculating commissions, incentives, bonuses, or variable compensation programs
• Advanced MS Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, formulas, and large dataset analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience reconciling data and investigating compensation discrepancies
• Ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, Sales, Accounting, and Business Leadership teams
Preferred Experience
• Experience with Xactly, Varicent, CaptivateIQ, Spiff, Anaplan, CallidusCloud, or other incentive compensation management platforms
• Experience supporting commission plan administration and sales incentive programs
• Experience creating dashboards and reports in Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI tools
• Exposure to compensation modeling, forecasting, and territory planning
• Experience supporting large enterprise sales organizations
