Onboarding Specialist

Job Title: Onboarding Specialist # 1018578

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Duration: 6 months contract to start

Pay range: $24-26/hr.

Client: Large Banking

Overview:

We are looking for an Onboarding Specialist to support the end-to-end onboarding process for new employees, from pre-employment through post-hire.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage the end-to-end employee onboarding process, providing guidance and support to new hires and managers.
• Handle daily Form I-9 activities, including reviewing documentation, identifying missing or overdue items, completing reverifications, and ensuring compliance with federal requirements.
• Manage multiple employee cases through a Case Management System and meet established SLAs.
• Respond to onboarding and I-9 questions and escalate complex issues when needed.
• Maintain accurate records and support audits, compliance reviews, and documentation checks.
• Work with HR systems such as Workday and ServiceNow to manage onboarding tasks and case documentation.
• Protect confidential employee information and follow company policies and procedures.
• Provide a high-quality employee experience through clear, timely, and professional communication.

What We’re Looking For:

• 1–3 years of experience in HR, onboarding, compliance, or administrative support.
• Hands-on knowledge of Form I-9, including Sections 1 & 2, reverifications, and employment eligibility documentation.
• Experience with Workday, ServiceNow, or similar HR systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple cases.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with confidential information and meet deadlines/SLAs.
• Comfortable using MS Office and digital workflow systems.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with I-9 audits, corrections, or E-Verify.
• Experience supporting high-volume onboarding or HR operations.
• Knowledge of federal employment eligibility requirements.
• PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
