Senior BA/Scrum Master

This is a hybrid opportunity (2-4 days on site) in the Washington, DC area.

Position Summary

This role involves supporting the financial management functions within the operations team at a major organization. The candidate will serve as a combined Business Analyst and Scrum Master, collaborating closely with Product Owners and project teams to gather requirements, facilitate agile processes, and ensure successful delivery of transactional, compliance-driven systems. The focus is on developing user-friendly tools, forms, and dashboards within large, bureaucratic organizational structures.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with the Product Owner to gather and refine requirements for various projects


• Facilitate agile ceremonies and processes, working closely with project managers and teams using Agile Development Operations (ADO)


• Support the development of transactional systems that involve data entry, form completion, and inter-system communication


• Contribute to the design and usability of forms and tools to ensure ease of use and efficiency


• Work on large-scale projects with substantial data handling requirements


• Adapt to evolving organizational policies and procedures


• Act as a liaison across multiple business units to gather requirements and communicate effectively


• Ensure deliverables meet compliance and usability standards

Required Qualifications

• Active SAFe 6 and Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certifications


• Proven experience as a Business Analyst and Scrum Master in large organizational settings


• Well-versed in agile methodologies


• Strong communication skills with the ability to work across diverse groups


• Experience with transactional, compliance-driven systems involving data entry and reporting


• Ability to navigate complex, bureaucratic organizational structures


• Experience with requirements gathering, writing user stories, and collaborating across teams


• Proficiency working with teams utilizing ADO (Azure DevOps)

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with large data projects and reporting dashboards


• Focused on usability and building user-friendly forms and tools


• Demonstrated adaptability in fast-changing policy environments


• Prior experience working in a highly structured, large organizational environment
