Senior API Developer (Python/Gunicorn)
Onsite role in Soth Denver, open-ended consulting engagement
Primary Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and support scalable REST APIs and microservices
- Build backend services using Python (Flask/Gunicorn) and Java
- Develop and maintain API integrations with internal and external systems
- Design and optimize data models across SQL and NoSQL databases
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve API performance, scalability, and reliability
- Participate in CI/CD, testing, and deployment automation
- Collaborate with product, architecture, and network engineering teams
Required Skills
- 5 years API development experience
- Strong Python development experience with Flask and Gunicorn
- Strong Java development experience
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs
- Strong SQL skills (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB, or similar
- API testing using Postman or similar tools
Preferred Skills
- Docker and Kubernetes
- Cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
- Microservices architecture
- Telecommunications, Wireless, AAA/RADIUS, or network services experience
- Experience supporting customer-facing, high-availability systems
