Role Description
This is a part-time on-site role for a Food Safety Assistant at Dewy Meadow Foods, Inc.,* located in Kutztown, PA. The Food Safety Assistant will be responsible for performing various administrative tasks such as Food Safety Document Management, Environmental testing,* and Equipment verification. Managing calendars, organizing meetings, handling correspondence, taking notes at meetings, and maintaining records. The role requires excellent organizational and communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Experience with HACCP, SOP, GMP, FDA, and FSMA. Food safety Plans such as BRC and SQF. helpful. (Good fit for someone going to school for food science, food security, or food safety.)
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate well and manage multiple assignments and personnel simultaneously
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, must be self-motivated, and able to handle confidential information
- Ability to respond effectively to changing workloads and priorities.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)
Responsibilities:
- Provide support and assistance for assigned projects, which includes support to the General Manager
- Organizing an archiving system for documents
- Retrieve documents upon request
- Work with colleagues to ensure consistency of the documentation practice across the company
- Assist with both internal and external audits
- Ensure documentation integrity
- Keep documents current & remove obsolete documents.
- Utilize storage software for electronic filing
- Adhere to regulatory requirements
- Provide additional assistance, as needed.
