What are the responsibilities and job description for the Football Assistant Coach position at DeWitt Public Schools?
Summary of Duties
The Assistant Football Coach is responsible for maintaining a focus on the team’s development and continuous improvement throughout the season, by directing student athletes at practice, during transportation, at other schools or other locations. The assistant coach is a primary role model of coaching for our staff, parents, community and students and promotes and projects leadership qualities for all student-athletes.
Reports to
Reports to the High School Athletic Director and Head Varsity Football Coach
Follows sports program as set by varsity coach
Qualifications/Requirements
- Knowledge of coaching football
- Must be at least 18 years of age and a High School graduate
- Three (3) or more years coaching experience preferred
- Knowledge of strength and conditioning
- Quality communication skills
- Basic knowledge of first aid
Compensation
Compensation to be paid per DEA Contract – Schedule B
