Job Overview
A growing boutique law firm with an emphasis in matrimonial and family law is seeking an associate who is passionate about assisting clients to navigate their legal issues. The candidate should be dedicated and willing to work with complex legal challenges. Whether matters are negotiated or litigated, the candidate must identify the issues at hand, problem solve, and provide exceptional legal services to our clients.
Some of the responsibilities/duties of the position are as follows:
- Case preparation
- Strong legal research skills
- Writing skills
- Drafting, reviewing, and interpreting all legal documents, including motions and briefs
- Analyzing cases and strategy development
- Reviewing discovery documents and preparing discovery responses
- Attending court appearances as necessary
- Second seating trials
Experience
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.
- Admission to the state bar or eligibility for admission is essential.
- Prior experience in matrimonial and family law is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to produce clear and persuasive legal documents.
- Experience with legal drafting and familiarity with court procedures is advantageous.
- Background in legal administrative tasks including case management and document organization is desirable.
- Excellent analytical skills combined with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively.
A team work approach and solid work ethic are required. A candidate must be detail oriented. There is opportunity for growth within the firm as the candidate develops their skills, knowledge, abilities, performance, and contributes to the success of the firm. While the ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in matrimonial law, we are open to training new graduates and paralegals currently in law school.
Salary will be commensurate with experience. Compensation package includes salary, merit based bonuses, vacation time, and a 401(k) plan.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
