Dewberry is seeking a Senior Roadway Engineer in our Tampa, FL office to grow and strengthen our transportation design practice. Responsibilities
- Develop geometrics and prepare detailed plans for the construction of safe and efficient roadways
- Prepare engineering reports and contract documents
- Review work performed by less experienced Engineers and provide them coaching and mentorship
- Serve as Engineer-of-Record on a variety of roadway projects from arterial widenings to multi-level interchanges, for a variety of clients from DOTs to Contractors to municipal agencies
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Transportation Discipline Leaders
- Prepare marketing materials and collaborate with project teams during pursuits
- Provide engineering support for projects in construction
Required Skills & Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- 7 years of progressive experience working on FDOT or similar public agency projects
- Florida PE license or ability to obtain one within six months
- Strong background in roadway design principles, criteria, and plans production processes (preferably with FDOT)
- Proficiency with Open Roads Designer
- Ability to manage multiple assignments in a timely fashion to meet project schedules
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
- Strong desire to be a key contributor in an outstanding team of industry-leading professionals
