In this crucial technical role, you will provide BAS technical, mechanical, and process management support for the commissioning department on a variety of projects spanning all markets and geographies served by the group. This variety of project types will keep you inspired, engaged, and continuously learning. Your BAS skills will be instrumental in performing design reviews of mechanical designs, inspecting building systems, and creating comprehensive testing and closeout documents, all while utilizing cutting-edge software to streamline processes and enhance efficiency. Key Required Skills
- High school diploma required. A bachelor’s degree in engineering is a plus.
- Accomplished BAS Designer/Installer with 10 years of directly applicable BAS controls design/installation experience required.
- Commissioning experience
- Commissioning process certification preferred or ability to acquire within first 12 months
- Hybrid work available for this position based on experience***
Responsibilities
- Execute commissioning services on a variety of project types.
- Actively support and coordinate with the entire commissioning team to execute projects and uphold our commitments.
- Some project management includes scoping work, scheduling resources, and estimating cost.
- Provide controls-related technical leadership.
- HVAC sequence of operation knowledge and capable of performing design review of Sequence of operation and creating mechanical system testing procedures, and testing the same in the field
- Must have knowledge of investigating, troubleshooting, manipulating, adjusting, setup and testing HVAC controls systems such as JCI, Trane, Automated Logic, Siemens, Distech, Niagara, etc. Knowledge in multiple control systems is a plus
- Must have complete working knowledge of HVAC chilled water and DX systems, including design, operation, and testing of: Chillers, Boilers, Cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, AHU, RTU, ERU, VAVs, exhaust, FCU, etc.
- Review air and water test and balance process, review a TAB reports, and identify issues.
- Visit client facilities and gather necessary data to test mechanical systems
- Create system installation and testing documents
- Be familiar with OSHA safety requirements and have the ability to identify deficiencies
- Be familiar with building codes and have the ability to make intuitive decisions related to such
- Read and understand building plans and specifications
- Work safely around electrical systems up to 600 volts
- Effectively communicate with all clients, construction trades, and design professionals
- Provide controls-related technical leadership to teams of professional and non- professional staff.
- Coordinate work schedules and prepare progress reports.
- Work under own direction and interface directly with the client.
- Have a high aptitude for abstract reasoning, assertiveness, thoroughness, and be very detail-oriented
- Work flexible hours and work in hot or cold environments
- Climb stairs, ladders, and use lift trucks. Do moderate lifting. Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
- Travel approximately 50% of the time.
- High school diploma required. A bachelor’s degree in engineering is a plus.
- Accomplished BAS Designer/Installer with 10 years of directly applicable BAS controls design/installation experience required.
- Commissioning experience
- Commissioning process certification preferred or ability to acquire within first 12 months
- Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills
