Job Description

Dewberry has an opening for Drinking Water Operator  experienced in drinking water facilities and operation supporting projects Nationwide . Preferred candidates will have experience in disaster response related to drinking water problems post-event. The Drinking Water Operator will perform labor related to repair and installation of drinking water facilities, sources, mainlines, and service connections . Must be capable of troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment and making simple repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform labor related to repair and installation of drinking water facilities
• Use industry best practices for drinking water equipment installation and repair
• Operate testing or processing equipment of moderate complexity, and construct components or subassemblies
• Trouble shoot malfunctioning equipment and make simple repairs
• Any other duties assigned by management
  
  

Required Skills & Required Experience

• High School or trade school diploma is required , an associate degree in a related field is preferred; At least one year of experience in the water and/or wastewater treatment facility operation and maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Meet certification requirements to obtain certified drinking water operator licenses, Level will be defined on each Task Order
• Ability to obtain Level 1-4 treatment operator license
• Ability to obtain Level 1-4 distribution operator license
• Must have a good driving record.
• Working knowledge of the principles, procedures, methods, equipment, materials, and tools employed in the operation' and maintenance of the water and wastewater treatment, collection and distribution systems.
• Thorough knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions involved in water and wastewater treatment work.
• Must be able to lift or move up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Knowledge of computer applications.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply instructions, drawings and specifications for work assigned.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, other personnel, and the general public .
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
