Highway Staff Engineer

Dewberry is a leader in the transportation and highway design market and is seeking a Highway Staff Engineer in our Bloomfield, NJ offices. The candidate must have a BS degree in Civil Engineering, Experience in the design of highways and roads, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required. Candidates must have the ability to work in a team environment and coordinate with clients. MicroStation experience is required, InRoads/OpenRoads or similar experience is preferred. Experience with other software utilized in the design of highways desirable.

Complete highway engineering tasks including design of horizontal and vertical geometry, utility coordination and relocations, development of maintenance and protection of traffic schemes, preparation of right of way plans, and coordination of drainage design, traffic signals and electrical/lighting systems for a variety of project types and clients.
• Perform broad engineering assignments that expand knowledge and skill sets; independently evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Investigate alternative engineering solutions to solve problems.
• Assist in the preparation of contract bid documents including: Plans, Specifications, and Cost Estimates
• Assist in the preparation of proposals to provide professional services

• BS in Civil Engineering is required
• 2 years of experience in highway design
• Experience with MicroStation required, InRoads/OpenRoads preferred
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must have a valid drivers license and clean driving record

The projected range for this position is $78,488 to $100,913 annually in our Bloomfield, NJ office. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
