Position Title: Quality Tech Location: Lexington, TNReports To: Manufacturing/Quality Manager FLSA Status: Non-ExemptEssential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ascertains the acceptable quality of product with the use of information in the customer files such as prints, written specifications and standards
  • Identifies, isolates and makes dis-positioning decisions non-conforming product.
  • Collects data, communicates and partners with internal departments to assure process control of molded and assembled products to meet standards.
  • Partners with other departments in troubleshooting of job processes, work flows, and corrective actions.
  • Develops a good understanding of the procedures and processes used in the plating of products, and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Complete inspection/test reports, documents inspection results and assists in maintaining the QA document files.
  • Oversees and assist with the inspection of customer returned products according to the Inspection criteria.
  • Performs specialized testing according to inspection criteria.
  • Assures the maintenance of an accurate Go/No Go library.
  • Assures calibration of gauges used to insure quality of products.
  • Communicates with customers regarding product specifications and any quality concerns.
  • Assures proper creation, auditing and maintaining operational procedures.
  • Performs routine analysis of inspection data by using Six Sigma or similar techniques.
  • Performs a leadership role in the facilities ISO certification process.
  • Responsible for the overall corrective action setup, communication and work processes.
  • Assist other departments in developing operational procedures
  • Create and maintain inspection instructions
  • Assist Product Development with the creation of PPAP/Part Approval Packages in the customer required time frame
  • Assist production in creating PFMEA for PPAPs
  • Other duties may be assigned

Education and/or Experience:

High School diploma or GED, 2 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

  • Quality assurance: 5 years (Required)
  • ISO 9001: 3 years (Required)
