Job Description
We are looking for a Senior EDI Software Developer to support and enhance claims processing and EDI transactions for IDOH s ACAPS system.
What You ll Do
- Review and update all documentation related to claims processing and EDI transactions
- Identify undocumented claims processing and EDI processes, and document them
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for the development team during the rewrite of IDOH s ACAPS system in .Net
- Act as liaison between the OTC team and the Children s program area for claims processing issues
- Collaborate with technical and functional staff on detailed business requirements, aligning business processes and technology with project goals, agency standards, federal, and state policies
- Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements
- Test new and existing systems for functionality and accuracy
- Ensure accurate and appropriate file exchanges with external trading partners and resolve EDI data transmission conflicts
- Provide helpdesk-level support for EDI claim transactions, including onboarding new healthcare providers and clearinghouses
- Work independently with minimal guidance and collaborate with ISDH external partners as needed
What You'll Need
Required:
- Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science or related fields with IT experience
- Database knowledge
- 5 years of experience understanding EDI file formats (835, 837, 210)
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
- Ability to solve complex troubleshooting issues
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred:
- Health industry experience
- Knowledge of IBM Websphere (WTX)
- Database/SQL experience
