Duties
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to accurately determine client needs.
- Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and art or dance therapy when appropriate.
- Provide individual, group, family, and child/youth therapy sessions using modalities like clinical counseling, grief counseling, and social work techniques to promote emotional well-being.
- Utilize telehealth platforms for remote therapy sessions while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards.
- Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety and stability.
- Document all patient interactions thoroughly in electronic health records (EHR/EMR), adhering to medical documentation standards and clinical ethical guidelines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for case management, treatment planning, and coordination of care for clients with co-occurring disorders or complex needs such as autism spectrum disorder or developmental disabilities.
Experience
- Valid licensure as a Licensed Therapist (e.g., LPC, LMFT, LCSW) with current certification to practice independently in Maryland.
- Proven experience in psychotherapy techniques including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, behavior management, and addiction counseling.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders.
- Prior experience providing services in outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, or hospital environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and clinical documentation standards is essential.
- Experience working with telehealth platforms and electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) to deliver seamless patient care.
- Knowledge of mental health assessments related to PTSD care, grief counseling, chronic pain counseling, gender issues counseling, and substance use disorders enhances your ability to serve diverse client needs.
