Marketing Associate, Military & Science, part time

 DeVine provides technical and educational support services to government and commercial clients.  We have current programs in Oceanography & Meteorology, High Performance Computing & IT, and Higher Education.

We're looking for a Marketing Associate to join Team DeVine on a part time basis.  This position will be supporting military and Federal government customers, hence only US Citizens may be considered. 

The successful hire will work closely with company leadership in implementing and creating marketing & sales strategies.  Attending industry events, creating compelling messaging, managing social media accounts, and participating in client & prospect meetings are some of the regular tasks.  A background in Science and/or the US military is a plus.

Role highlights:

• Attend industry events and make new customer leads
• Spearhead planning and execution of marketing campaigns
• Write and develop marketing content, including content for industry events, marketing & sales emails, web copy and social media
• Set business meetings for management and attend
• Collaborate with leadership to devise creative ways to reach potential customers
• Engage new and existing clients with compelling communication strategies including in-person meetings and events
• Attend and contribute to business development and operations meetings
• Capture notes, insights, intel and action items to be used in proposals  
• Contribute to taking business leads from initiation to qualifying & nurturing, to customer  
• Develop and update content across our website, emails and social media

• BA/BS from an accredited college or university in English, Science, Marketing, or similar: Associate’s degree may be considered in combination with relevant US military experience
• 2 years’ previous experience in marketing and/or business development required - similar military or science experience may be considered in place
• Exceptional writing skills required
• Must be an extroverted and outgoing person
• Must have superb verbal communication skills including being an engaging listener  
• Proficient with common tools such as Microsoft (Office, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Experience with AI writing tools and web Content Management Systems (CMS) a plus, e.g., WordPress, Canva, and Google Analytics
• Previous experience creating promotional materials such flyers and posters a plus
• Current Secret Clearance or higher a plus  

• Position Type: Part Time, 20-24 hours per week estimated, Must be U.S. Citizen
• Location: San Diego, CA

• Compensation: $35 to $40 per hour DOE and skills
