QA Analyst

Devhouse
Dallas, TX Full Time
POSTED ON 7/26/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 1/21/2027

Location: Dallas Texas

We’re looking for a Dallas-based Game QA Analyst who wants to be an active part of the development process. Because this role depends on close, daily collaboration with our developers and producers, regular in-office participation is required.

About Devhouse

Devhouse is a game development studio based in Dallas, Texas. We work across a wide range of game projects, platforms, and genres, bringing together design, art, engineering, production, and QA to solve problems as one team.

We’re looking for a QA Analyst who wants to be an active part of the development process. This is not a role for someone who only identifies bugs, fills out a form, and passes it along. The right person will investigate issues, communicate directly with the team, and stay involved until those issues are properly resolved.

About the Role

As a QA Analyst at Devhouse, you’ll help the team understand not only what is going wrong, but why it may be happening, who should be involved, and how urgently it needs to be addressed.

You’ll work closely with producers, designers, artists, and engineers through daily communication. You’ll be expected to learn how each game and its underlying systems work, test beyond the obvious player experience, and anticipate where changes may create unintended problems elsewhere.

Finding and documenting an issue is only the beginning. You’ll help make sure it reaches the right person, aligns with the producer’s priorities, receives the necessary follow-up, and is verified once addressed.

What You’ll Do

  • Test games throughout development to identify functional, technical, usability, balance, and design issues.
  • Develop a working understanding of each project’s systems, tools, and technical structure.
  • Investigate bugs beyond their surface level symptoms to provide useful context, reproduction steps, and potential causes.
  • Route issues to the appropriate team members and communicate directly when additional context is needed.
  • Collaborate with producers to evaluate severity, urgency, player impact, and development risk.
  • Track reported issues through resolution, retest fixes, and identify regressions or related problems.
  • Create and maintain practical test plans, test cases, and regression coverage.
  • Proactively identify areas of risk before they become larger production problems.
  • Participate in daily team communication and share a clear picture of the product’s current quality.
  • Look for ways to improve our testing processes, tools, and overall development workflow.

What We’re Looking For

  • A strong understanding of how games are designed and developed across multiple disciplines.
  • Experience creating and executing test plans, test cases, and regression tests.
  • The ability to clearly reproduce and communicate complex issues.
  • Technical curiosity and a willingness to investigate what may be causing a problem.
  • Strong judgment when evaluating severity, urgency, and player impact.
  • The confidence to communicate directly with teammates and respectfully push for clarity or follow-through.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail across multiple features and priorities.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

Experience with Unity, Unreal Engine, UEFN, development tools, debugging workflows, or scripting is a plus, but not required.

You’ll Be a Great Fit If You

  • Treat QA as part of game development, not a final checkpoint.
  • Take ownership of issues through verification instead of assuming someone else will follow up.
  • Ask thoughtful questions and learn how systems work beneath the surface.
  • Communicate potential solutions and causes without overstepping or presenting assumptions as facts.
  • Focus your time on the issues that create the greatest risk or player impact.
  • Are comfortable taking action, learning from the result, and recalibrating when needed.
  • Enjoy working closely with a multidisciplinary team and sharing what you learn.

How We Work

Our team values people who figure things out, focus on work that moves the project forward, and approach challenges with possible solutions. We believe imperfect action is better than perfect inaction, and we learn by taking thoughtful risks and recalibrating.

We also value T-shaped professionals who understand the broader development process while continuing to deepen their specialty. Most importantly, we operate with a co-op mindset: open communication, shared knowledge, mutual support, and no office politics.

Why Devhouse?

  • Unlimited PTO
  • Hybrid workplace with in-office collaboration Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, and remote work on Wednesday
  • Health, vision, dental, and life insurance
  • Monthly Game Days dedicated to connecting as a team and playing games
  • Continuous learning and professional development opportunities
  • A multidisciplinary team that values and supports everyone’s contributions

If you’re passionate about game quality, curious about how games work, and motivated to help a team carry issues all the way through resolution, we’d love to hear from you.
