Job Description for Utility Technician

Job Summary: The primary focus of the Utility Technician position is to ensure that the service area is clean, safe, and organized.

Essential Responsibilities

• Utilize a forklift to organize and stage truck equipment such as dump bodies and snowplows
• Use of basic hand tools to install parts and subassemblies
• Listen to and follow directions from supervisors.
• Completes assigned tasks in a timely and safe manner.
• Pick up and deliver parts/equipment when needed
• Perform general shop floor clean-up and maintenance
• Team-oriented with a positive attitude.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic Computer skills and knowledge of Repair Order Processing Software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

The position requires the ability to operate motor vehicles and a safe driving record. Current Commercial Driver's License is preferred but not required

Sufficient manual dexterity to operate mechanical tools such as wrenches, sockets, grips, air tools, and other basic shop tools.

Ability to climb ladders

Ability requires a person to bend, twist, squat, and reach to perform tasks

Ability to lift a minimum of 60lbs unassisted.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, due to tools and engine noise.
