Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health New York provides programs and services for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder , and dual diagnoses. Located at our main campus in Red Hook, NY , this position is responsible for oversee ing total food service operations and assur ing all special diets are adhered to , i n absence of the Food Service Manager . They will meet with their supervisor at the beginning of each week to confirm the menu cycle for the week , follow and adhere to recipes as close to caloric intake as possible, be responsible for supervision of student workers, and ascertain that all caloric diets are followed and adequate food prepared to allow for additional servings. The Head Cook will be r esponsib le for the cleanliness and security of the kitchen at the end of each work day , as well as appropriate inventory control to ensure adequate supply of food products on a daily basis .

Location: Main campus, Red Hook school

Salary: (commensurate with education and experience)

With HS Diploma/GED: $21.50 - $23.00 per hour

With BA/BS: $22.50 - $24.07 per hour

With MA/MS or higher: $23.50 - $25.14 per hour

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma required . Prefer two years education in related food service program.

Experience: Minimum two years experience in similar position in an institutional setting.

Physical Requirements: Free of dependency and abuse of illegal or illicit drugs, alcohol, inhalants or other chemical or controlled substances. Significant, prolonged, and frequent amounts of walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, and lifting of 25 lbs or more. Possible exposure to blood borne pathogens
