Payroll Coordinator

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Payroll Coordinator’s primary role is preparing and submitting accurate and timely payroll data to DSC’s payroll provider for two separate bi-weekly payrolls.
- Communicating payroll reminders, reviewing timecard data, overseeing garnishment paperwork, entering payroll adjustments, and monitoring appropriate pay calculations for all staff.
- Entering and importing payroll data into the payroll system when necessary.
- Addressing warnings and notification messages in the payroll system.
- Responding to all other payroll inquiries via email, over the phone, and in-person.
- Auditing employee data entered in the payroll system.
- Responsible for completing post-payroll processes including posting payroll related journal entries and generating various payroll reports.
- The Payroll Coordinator will have additional Business Office responsibilities assigned by the Accounting Manager and may also be required to serve as back up to other Business Office staff.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate’s degree in Business, Accounting, or other related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Working knowledge of computer systems and programs.
- An understanding of accounting and control functions.
- Above average communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Must be flexible with schedule to meet payroll deadlines.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and understand the importance of data security.
HOURS
40 hours per week, Monday-Friday; will consider part-time candidates.
