What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech Language Pathologist ($1,500 Sign-On Bonus) position at DEVELOPMENTAL PATHWAYS?

Use the Primary Service Provider Model to team with other therapeutic disciplines, service coordinators, and caregivers to develop and implement functional goals and strategies to enhance the child’s development

Support categorical assessments and initial Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) development for children who are categorically eligible for Early Intervention services

Adhere to Medicaid regulations when this is a funding source (i.e. EVV)

Help families determine priorities for service
- Perform standardized or play-based assessments and complete all required documentation of child’s progress toward IFSP goals
- Perform consultative visits either alone or consultation with other team members, as appropriate
- Develop and maintain working case files per department policies and procedures
- Submit billing and supporting documentation timely
- Partner with service coordinators, Child Find teams, and other community partners who serve young children to deliver early intervention services
- Provide skilled speech therapy services/interventions to children age 0-36 months with speech/communication, language, hearing, voice, and feeding/swallowing deficits
- May be asked to participate in the supervision of clinical fellowship year (CFY) through CFY Program
- Speech Language Pathologists can earn credentialing on the job. As a result, there are certain job duties regarding billing and evaluations that Speech Language Pathologists must perform with supervisor review & approval
Requirements
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate degree from an accredited therapy program
- Two (2) years’ experience in the relevant field
- Specialty certification (ASHA)
- Active DORA licensure in Colorado
- Demonstrated experience with specific programmatic concepts, practices, and procedures
- Must be able to meet physical demands to include bending or twists of the body, lifting, standing time, and sitting time to include floor play/therapy, etc.
Preferred
- Working knowledge of Medicaid and private insurance billing
- Knowledge of rules and regulations for Early Intervention
- Prefer additional experience in an area directly related to job assignment
- Knowledge of rules and regulations for the Division of Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment
